The plaque of the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Hall is written by the famous calligrapher Tianheng Han. On the pillar plaques, calligrapher Xiaoyun Wang wrote that I will not become Buddha unless hell is empty of suffering, and one shall wish thusly, to remind each one of us to follow the foot-step of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

In the beginning, Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva became a Buddhist for the appearance of Buddha, then he studied Buddhism for the sake to help his mother and relatives out of hell. In the end, Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva wants to help every being.
Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva was born after Sakyamuni Buddha’s nirvana, and before Maitreya’s enlightenment, thus he made his eternal promise, to help all the suffering beings, and will achieve enlightenment only after every being in hell is rescued.

On the sides of the Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva hall are two small landscapes, on the left is a giant stone, referring to his earth-like forbearance. Earth, one of the four elements, is the ground and birth place of everything, every being, and cannot be moved. On the right, the gaps between the rocks are
showcasing his deep, and thoughtful inclusive heart. Together they mean to refer to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s ability to stay in meditative calm, and use boundless dharma to help unlimited beings. Thus the name Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva means forgiveness and perseverance.
